Gay Friendly Doctor In Asheville/Weaverville at RiverRock Clinic
Finding a doctor who’s truly LGBTQ+-friendly shouldn’t feel like a scavenger hunt. At RiverRock Clinic, we believe good care means feeling safe, seen, and respected—no assumptions, no judgment.
“Gay-friendly” isn’t just a label. It means your doctor listens, uses inclusive language, discusses sexual health openly, and understands how identity and health intersect. It means you can ask questions about PrEP, relationships, or gender care without awkwardness.
That’s exactly how we practice here. As a membership-based direct primary care clinic, we keep our patient panel small so visits aren’t rushed. You get real time with your doctor, easy access, and a relationship built on trust.
Asheville has great affirming providers, but the right fit is about connection and respect. If you’ve ever felt dismissed or unseen in healthcare, we’d love to change that.
A message from our doc:
Question: Is Dr. Lok LGBTQ friendly?
Answer: Absolutely! ‘Folx in the LGBTQ community are welcome, and I enjoy conversations about the intersection of health and sexuality. Being a doctor but more importantly a human I don’t always “get it right” but I’m hear to learn. Sexuality is a broad term that includes sexual health, sexual behavior, sexual orientation and gender. Examples of this are sexual health appointments not just focused on sexually transmitted diseases but also consent, medication effects on libido, pleasure etc. Other examples are private and trauma-informed pap smears (stirrup free) and HIV PreP appointments. I also provides gender-affirming care including but not limited to medications and referrals.
