Budget-friendly Wellness in Asheville Beyond the Doctor’s Office

Healthcare can get expensive fast, but staying healthy isn’t just about doctor visits.

We’ve collected a list of local wellness resources that we often tell our patients about—options that make movement, mindfulness, and self-care more accessible without breaking the bank.

  1. Somatic Experiencing Sessions with Kyle

    Somatic Experiencing is a type of work where the practitioner holds space for your movement, which can include moving through pain, tension, or embodied emotional experiences. Kyle is an experienced provides a grounded, supportive space for this work, helping you reconnect with your body and promote healing. Sessions are currently 1 hour and 15 minutes for $50.   2. Yoga-Based Mindfulness

    Neuryogini Rebekkah is a gentle soul/personal trainer/yogi who offers yoga-based mindfulness sessions called Body & Emotional Awareness (BEA) Skills Practice. She specializes in teens and adults. These sessions help you reconnect with your body and mind through gentle movement, mindful breathing, and body positioning, supporting emotional regulation and overall awareness. The Neuryogini

    The first session is free, and subsequent sessions are on a sliding scale starting at $25. Sessions are typically virtual.

  3. All Souls Counseling Center

    All Souls Counseling Center is a mental health therapy center near downtown Asheville with convenient parking. They have multiple licensed therapists and offer sliding-scale sessions ranging from $10–$20, which can be especially helpful if your insurance doesn’t cover mental health therapy or comes with a high co-pay.   4. Donation-Based Yoga

    Asheville Community Yoga offers a welcoming, community-focused space for yoga practice with a donation-based model, making it accessible to everyone. Sliding scale, $10–$20 per class, no minimum. Asheville Community Yoga

  5. Drip Sauna

    Drip Sauna is a newer sauna and cold plunge business offering Asheville’s only outside wood-fired sauna and cold plunge setup, nestled along the French Broad River. Each session is $30, or $25 with a membership.

  6. Underdog Gym

    Underdog Martial Arts in Asheville offers a welcoming space for all skill levels, specializing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, HIIT, and Fitness. The first class is free, and they host a monthly queer/trans/LGBTQ+ self-defense workshop every first Saturday from 12:30–2:30 PM. The gym is inclusive, trauma-informed, and community-focused, with friendly dogs who are part of the team. From our experience, it’s one of the most affordable mixed martial arts gyms in town.
