Moving in the Right Direction: Asheville Physical Therapists We’ve Met Recently

There are many skilled physical therapists in town, but finding one who truly understands your body’s mechanics and will hold you accountable to your progress can be tricky. Physical therapy requires a combination of technical skill, deep knowledge of how the body moves, and the ability to tailor exercises to your unique needs. Here are a few physical therapists we’ve recently met or connected with.

Disclaimer: This is not a permanent “top picks” list, nor is it a ranking. It’s simply a snapshot highlighting practitioners we’ve recently met. There are many other wonderful options in the area.

  1. Bg Ivy PT

Big Ivy has a handful of therapists and is just a few buildings north of our own clinic’s location. Pro tip: they also have a special program for osteoporosis. https://www.bigivypt.com/

  2. Movement for Life in North Asheville

This is a larger chain, but don’t hold that against them. The North Asheville location is particularly special—it’s newer, has a pelvic health therapist, and a really youthful, energetic vibe. They also pride themselves on offering longer, unrushed appointments. https://www.movementforlife.com/physical-therapy-clinics/north-carolina/north-carolina/north-asheville

  3. Phil with BodyLogic

Phil is a Weaverville-based physical therapist, and he and his team of assistants have been in the game for years. They accept insurance, including Medicare. In fact, our clinics used to be neighbors—at least before the hurricane.

  4. Robyn at SOL physical therapy

Robyn is in Woodfin and is a physical therapist with a lot of heart. She specializes in techniques like soft tissue work and ASTYM to break up scar tissue. They recently started accepting nearly all private insurance plans, including Medicare. solpt.org

  5. SEPT PT

It’s a larger chain, but a nice one—they have multiple locations in and around Asheville. They accept nearly all private insurance and Medicare, and to our knowledge, they’re the only clinic in Asheville that also takes Medicaid. septphysicaltherapy.com

  6. Susannah with Your Core PT

Susanne is an experienced physical therapist specializing in post–breast cancer rehabilitation and pelvic therapy. She has a charming, comfortable office near downtown Asheville with surprisingly good parking for the area. yourcorept.com
